The Greatest Skill You Can Master – Kettering Personal Trainer

I haven’t blogged as much as I’d like to lately.

Now I used to get really frustrated by this as it’s something I really enjoy.

However, I recently discovered something that applies to ALL of us when it comes to getting stuff DONE.

I’ll go as far as saying this could even be the Greatest Skill You”ll Ever Master.

First up, THREE realisations contributing to my discovery:

1. We only live once.

2. We only have 24 hours in a day.

3. As a result of 1 & 2, our ability to prioritise our time & make each & every moment count, is one of the greatest skills we can ever master.

So as much as I LOVE writing these blogs, creating video’s and presenting workshops….my family, my health & the clients I work with day in and day out will ALWAYS be my top priority.

However, the challenge for all of us in the faec paced life of 2014 is staying FOCUSED on these important things. It’s HARD right?

I mean how easy is it to get distracted by co-workers, tweets, facebook messages, emails, opportunities, tags, T.V shows, phone calls. Yes the list goes on.

Before you know it you’ve lost 45 minutes of your time to social media that you’ll NEVER get back.

The other unfortunate fact of all of this is it has contributed to many of us putting our health & time with our families at the bottom of the pile.

Working too many hours. Skipping training sessions. Eating the wrong foods.

In recent years studies show people listing work, finance & materialistic items as far higher priorities than their own health.

Why is this?

Well its actually just a natural human reaction to threat. You see the mammalian part of our brain prioritises staying alive over staying healthy.

Now if I’m honest (which I always try to be), I’ve been there. I think we all have. In times of turbulence we act in ways that aren’t really us.

What I’ve learnt though is it doesn’t have to be this way. It just requires a little focus & good intention.

So I Challenge You

If there is absolutely anything in your life right now that you’re striving to achieve but struggling with, my suggestion is remove or say NO to EVERYTHING that does NOT contribute to that outcome.

Be ruthless, be selfish even.

If you’re trying to lose weight SAY NO…

– To processed foods  & YES to single ingredient foods

– To the T.V & YES to a structured fitness program

– To social (drinking) & YES to your desired body

Here’s what I’ve been selfishly up to:

…Spending quality time with my family

…Finalising TRANSFORM– Portugal Fitness Retreat which is now less than 6 weeks away.

…Coaching clients through my exciting new TRANSFORMATION PROGRAM —> Breakthrough, Break-free.

…Taking new starters through their journey on the  Fit4Life Projects Unstoppable fat loss formula.

…And of course working one on one with all my awesome personal training clients.

Now its your turn.

What will you prioritise?

Or a better question..what will you remove or say no to?

I’ll finish by saying this..

Every second, of every minute, of every day… you’re doing something.

Whether its exercising, sleeping, eating or watching telly.

You’re doing something.

In these periods of something you’re also leaving TWO things behind that you that you can NEVER change.

1. Regrets

2. Memories

When I’m an old man I know which one of these I’d rather have.

How about you?
